The Speares

Living the life in Muskoka

Couple's Resort
Oct 17-19

What can I say? If you've got the money the Couple's Resort is wonderful. It turns out they have free boats and stuff. We've never looked into that, but this time we took a little boat tour of the lake. A bit cold for such a thing, but hey, it's free.

This time rather than stay in a detached room we saved some money and got a Van Gogh Master's Suite. Every bit as good, although no sauna or steam room. Hot tub on the balcony though. Need plastic champagne flutes for next time. Supper the first night was Rack of Lamb, and a Pork Tenderloin with Cilantro sauce for Deb.

As always, they give you a pass into Algonquin but lately you still have to register at the gate for the day. This year, in addition to various hikes in the park we also did the lumber history museum. Not a museum as such, more a trail through the woods with really fascinating old lumberjack stuff.

All in all a fun thing to do for a couple of days in the fall.
